On-Call Security/Receptionist
On-Call Position
JOB SUMMARY:
The Security/Receptionist greets residents and visitors, insures only authorized persons move beyond the lobby space and into the building, answers and forwards phones calls, takes messages, checks out vehicles to staff and keeps the lobby presentable and organized. Position involves substantial interaction with officials of private and governmental agencies.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Maintain a pleasant and welcoming environment in the lobby for the residents, staff of visitors of St. Anne’s.
2. Greet visitors and issue visitor badges and direct them to their appropriate destination.
3. Ensure proper sign in and out of St. Anne’s vehicles.
4. Announce the evacuation of the building during fire alarms and direct emergency personnel in the event of a facility or individual emergency.
5. Ensure only authorized residents, staff or guests move beyond the lobby and into the St. Anne’s building.
6. Answer the main switchboard phone and transfer calls to appropriate parties.
7. Keep the lobby area organized and presentable. Report items in the lobby requiring cleaning or maintenance.
8. Question unauthorized persons and assess their intent, dispatch them off premises.
9. Patrol parking lots to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles. Check that vehicles are not parked in fire lanes or in restricted spaces.
10. Open or close gates and doors as necessary.
11. Be familiar with fire panel, conducting fire drills and evacuating building.
12. Actively direct emergency personnel in the event of a facility or individual emergency.
13. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, maintain a structured residential program for residents through the administration of discipline and setting limits for behavior.
14. For security staff on the overnight shift (10pm to 6am), many of the tasks above will involve a reduced workload during this low-traffic period. Therefore, certain administrative tasks may be assigned such as filing records, doing light data entry, copying papers, reviewing records for accuracy and other tasks as assigned.
15. Maintain regular, consistent, and timely attendance.
16. Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Anne’s, licensing, HIPPA, and other regulatory agencies.
17. Provides assistance to each resident in working with a group and in handling individual problems.
18. Administers discipline and setting of limits for behavior
19. Provides supervision, protection and care of residents, individually and groups at all times.
20. Documents residents progress; identifies possible need for professional services; communicates such findings to professional staff.
21. Participates in mandatory trainings, in-service, an meetings
22. Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent and (2) years of work experience.
2. Ability to independently use a computer, the ability to learn necessary computer programs.
3. Must have great customer service skills and a warm and friendly personality.
4. Front end reception experience preferred.
5. Must have California Guard Card.
6. Must be sensitive to and desire to work with an at-risk population.
