Mental Health Program Assistant
JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Mental Health Services Director and Assistant Director in all aspects of the organization and ongoing quality improvement of the Mental Health Services Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage and direct incoming phone calls.
2. Responsible for setting up appointments with outside contractors (including psychiatric and psychological appointments).
3. Responsible for monitoring Department of Mental Health charts & other documentation to ensure consistency, accountability & internal responsibility.
4. Ensuring Medi-Cal eligibility for both residential department, and community clients.
5. Collect and report on critical success factors for the Department and track due dates for various DMH paperwork.
6. Interacts with other DMH Agencies and coordinates client care.
7. Schedule and coordinate meetings as requested by Director/Assistant Director
8. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent; associated degree in related field and/or work experience in child development or social service field preferred;
• Excellent typing, transcription, grammar, spelling, punctuation and editing skills;
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet
• Knowledge of DMH intranet and Medi-Cal billing preferred.
