Activities Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating and providing recreational activities for residents and their children. Provides a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for residents and their children through direct care.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Maintains posted activities calendar for residents and documentation of sign-up sheets and activity participation notes, etc.

2. Plans and facilitates daily activities incorporating physical and leisure aspects

3. Responsible for the supervision, protection, and care of residents

4. Involves residents in planning of activities through resident council and other forms of involvement

5. Administers discipline and setting of limits for behavior

6. Documents residents progress; identifies possible need for professional services; communicates such findings to professional staff.

7. Maintain regular, consistent, and timely attendance.

8. Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Anne’s, licensing, HIPPA, and other regulatory agencies.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

1. Provides assistance to each resident in working with a group and in handling individual problems.

2. Participates in mandatory trainings, in-service, and meetings

3. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. BA in Psychology, Social Work or related field. Coursework in recreational leadership is required. Experience in group, social or recreational work is preferred.

2. Good oral, written, and organizational skills.

3. Ability to exercise considerable initiative and judgment required in planning and arranging recreational events, counseling, selection of activities and use of leisure time, and promoting interest in participation in activities.

4. Physical ability to perform Pro-Act., administer first aid/CPR and operate an Agency motor vehicle.

5. Ability to independently use a computer and the ability to learn necessary computer programs.

6. Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
