Sabrina
Sabrina's mother was serving jail time for the first five years of Sabrina's life, and within two weeks of her release Sabrina, her mother, and two siblings were in an auto accident. Her two siblings suffered permanent injuries and her mother, who was drunk at the time, was killed.
After this horrific tragedy, Sabrina lived with her grandparents for another five years, until she was removed from the home due to abuse. Before coming to St. Anne's, Sabrina lived in six foster homes and two group homes. She was 16 years old and pregnant when she came to live at St. Anne's.
At St. Anne's Sabrina struggled with her anger, refused to go to school and fought with staff. After the birth of her son, she went to live with her boyfriend's parents. One year later, Sabrina found herself pregnant again, and this time, returned to St. Anne's by her own choice, and soon after gave birth to a baby girl. Here, she received the assistance and support she needed to address her anger and care for her two children.
Now, Sabrina goes to school, works well with staff and is open to letting people help her. She is motivated work towards a better future, and plans on moving into St. Anne's Transitional Housing with her son and daughter when she turns 18.
